Technical Advisor - SME
Tyto Athene is searching for a Technical Advisor - SME to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida. Positions are located both CONUS/OCONUS at the SOUTHCOM HQ in Doral, FL, and at the TSOC and other locations abroad (GTMO, Honduras, Colombia etc.). The SME Technical Advisor supports mission-critical operations and advises contract and government leadership on advanced technical strategies, risk mitigation, architectural planning, and operational improvements. This role provides expert-level guidance on emerging technologies, system integration, and enterprise-wide IT strategies supporting USSOUTHCOM and mission partner objectives. Responsibilities: Serves as the strategic technical advisor to contract and government stakeholders, providing expert recommendations on USSOUTHCOM IT initiatives, system modernization, cybersecurity and digital transformation Leads complex assessments of current architectures, identifying gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for system and process enhancements Guides the adoption and implementation of emerging technologies, including cloud, virtualization, data analytics, and cybersecurity frameworks Attends and supports engineering, change and architectural review boards Provides expert input for acquisition strategy, capability planning and system requirements definitions Collaborates with multidisciplinary technical teams and leadership to ensure solutions meet mission, cost and schedule requirements Evaluate system performance metrics and risk thresholds; develop actionable insights and technical recommendations Mentor junior engineers and analysts by sharing subject matter expertise and best practices Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field 10+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, enterprise architecture or technology consulting Proven experience advising DoD leadership or equivalent senior technical decision makers Extensive knowledge of enterprise IT systems, networks, cybersecurity frameworks and cloud architectures Strong understanding of cybersecurity compliance frameworks, including DoD RMF, STIGs, and Zero Trust principles Experience with cloud technologies Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills Location: Doral, Florida About Tyto Athene: Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position.
