Assistant Director for Planning and Assessment

Under the leadership of the Associate Vice Provost for Institutional Effectiveness, the Assistant Director for Planning and Assessment directs LSU's academic program review process and campus-wide strategic planning initiatives for academic and administrative units. This position collaborates with planning units to ensure compliance with institutional requirements; monitors progress and develops reports and resource materials. The Assistant Director also leads trainings and workshops for faculty and staff on best practices in strategic planning and assessment. Job Responsibilities: Directs the strategic planning process for all academic support units and administrative units regarding LSU's annual campus-wide planning requirements. Responsibilities include working with required planning units to meet deadlines, monitoring progress, providing feedback, developing reports and resource materials. - 30% Directs the academic program review process, including working with academic units to navigate the process (e.g., notifications, coordination of external reviewers and internal review panels, collaboration with institutional research, support self-study development, coordination of action plan review and approval.) - 30% Supports and coordinates the institution's ongoing, comprehensive, and integrated planning and evaluation processes that focus on institutional quality and effectiveness and incorporate systematic review of institutional goals and outcomes consistent with its mission (SACSCOC 7.1). Assist with the assessment of academic and student services that support student success (SACSCOC 8.2.c) and the assessment of administrative support units (SACSCOC 7.3) through the annual strategic planning process, in collaboration with the AVP for Institutional Effectiveness. - 20% Conducts trainings and workshops; provides leadership for faculty and staff relating to professional development, including the development of trainings, workshops, webinars and open labs related to best practices in strategic planning development and assessment. Other duties as assigned. - 20% Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 3 years of related experience. LSU values skills, experience, and expertise. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 7 years, or Master's degree with 2 years, of professional experience in higher education related to project management, accreditation, strategic planning, policy in higher education, assessment, or other applicable positions. Specific Experience: experience with academic planning, strategic planning, programmatic assessment, accreditation, assessment management systems such as Watermark products and Qualtrics.
