Our U.S. West offices have a strong backlog of projects. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Fire Protection Engineer to work from our Honolulu, Hawai'i office location. This position offers great variety of projects and the opportunity to be a Fire Protection Engineer and deliver projects that help grow an existing practice. You will deliver fire protection projects and consulting under our local government and U.S. Federal Sector contracts. Experience in projects focused on buildings/facilities and code compliance. This position supports clients in Hawai'i, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and other Pacific Island locations. Responsibilities Recommendations: Advise managers how to apply a wide variety of existing procedures and precedents. Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends. Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them. Audit: Work within established audit control systems to deliver specified outcomes or provide general support. Knowledge Management System: Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice. Business Requirements Identification: Collect business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals. Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure. Contract Management: Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan. Testing: Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards. Policy Development and Implementation: Work within established procedures to achieve specified goals. Product and Solution Development: Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products. Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals. Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems. Education Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an ABET accredited school in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar degree. Experience Minimum of 6 years of professional consulting engineering experience with exposure to defense, building, architectural, industrial, or related projects. Registered Professional Engineer in Hawai'i (Fire Protection) or ability to obtain Hawai'i fire protection license within 6 months. Other state engineering registrations may be considered.
