Eagle Physicians & Associates is on the hunt for a dynamic and self-driven Phlebotomist Float to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. Candidates for this position must possess the following Certificate/License: ASCP, AMT, ASPT or equivalent certification from an accredited Phlebotomy training program that includes successful completion of a certification exam with passing scores preferred.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, availability required between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Flexible schedule; hours will vary depending on staffing needs.

This position will require floating between all Eagle locations as needed, reliable

transportation

is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Assures accurate and timely collection of venous and capillary blood specimens according to procedure. Instruct patients in a clear and understandable manner the correct collection technique to insure accurate results. Assures accurate identification of all patient samples. Performs specimen processing in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures. Perform clerical functions such as data entry of patient information, patient results, appointments, etc. in an accurate and timely manner. Accurately and completely maintain all required departmental logs. Demonstrates knowledge of phlebotomy by serving as a willing resource to staff. May be involved in on-boarding and training of new employees. Protects self, coworkers and facility by following proper safety procedures to prevent the spread of blood borne and/or airborne diseases. Participate in yearly OSHA/HIPAA training. Follows HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality and maintains security of Protected Health Information (PHI) Exhibits and promotes the professional image of the department. Maintains inventory and supplies related to job activities and monitors expiration dates. May perform waived testing and perform related maintenance and quality control. May need to participate in proficiency testing. Effectively communicates and demonstrates good customer service throughout the organization to providers, peers and patients. Maintains clear real time communication with peers and leadership regarding issues, concerns and problems which may affect patient care or the operation of the department. Displays a positive attitude and team-oriented spirit, indicated by a willingness to assist where and whenever needed.
