Clinical Dietitian I Or Clinical Dietitian II

The University of Iowa Medical Center Downtown Campus Hospital is seeking a Clinical Dietitian I or Clinical Dietitian II to use Nutrition Care Process to assess, evaluate, and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and nutrition counseling for patients in program areas as assigned at our Downtown Campus. University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown (located at 500 E. Market Street, Iowa City, IA) is a 194-bed hospital that became part of Iowa's only comprehensive academic health system on Jan. 31, 2024. Other duties: Provides quality patient care including nutrition screening, evaluation, assessment, treatment, and documentation of patient care plan appropriate for complex patients. Assesses nutritional status and provides nutrition counseling on appropriate diet. Participates as active member of departmental/hospital committees concerning problems affecting patients food habits and needs. Participates in health team rounds and short-term projects. Participates as a preceptor for the Master of Clinical Nutrition students - educates students with on-the-job training, evaluates students, provides students with necessary support and assistance to ensure work is completed. Educates/trains new personnel as assigned and acts as a mentor to new personnel. Seeks opportunities to enhance ones own professional knowledge, skills, and development including research for publication/presentation, lead monthly CEU program for dietitian staff, obtain advanced credentialing, serve as a clinical resource to peers. Conduct group education sessions for the outpatient Cardiac Rehab population. Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public. The University of Iowa Healthcare Medical Center Downtown intends to hire one position at either the Clinical Dietitian I classification or Clinical Dietitian II classification, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate.
