Environmental Test Technician

This position requires an environmental test technician to support a wide variety of environmental testing in a dynamic laboratory. Candidate will require expert knowledge to assist and operate, maintain, and troubleshoot facility equipment. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing technical documentation (calibration, preventive maintenance, drawings, and procedures). The candidate will be responsible for picking up and delivering test equipment, data, office supplies, and custodial supplies as needed. The ability to work and succeed within a process-oriented setting is critical, as is the ability to thoroughly document and communicate one's work. Candidate will primarily support environmental test work in Bedford, MA but may occasionally be required to support testing in Cambridge, MA. Occasional support on evenings and weekends will be needed. Duties/Responsibilities Performs cleaning, maintenance, and or calibration of laboratory and equipment with limited supervision. Operates complex equipment in the production of hardware using complex manual skills with training and limited supervision. Documents their work consistent with work unit policy with limited supervision. Performs focused training to enable progression into higher skilled positions at the discretion of the supervisor. Other temporary assignments at the discretion of the supervisor. Skills/Abilities Able to communicate written and verbally. Able to use Microsoft office applications. Able to perform manual labor and operate automated and semi-automated equipment. Education Graduate from a 2 year technical school or applicable years of experience. Experience Either two years of applicable technical education and two years of applicable experience or four years of applicable experience meets the minimum requirement. Experience supporting electro-mechanical systems and complex integration and test activities with 2+ years of experience. Must be experienced and skilled in the use of hand and power tools. Must possess strength, stamina, and dexterity to perform strenuous assignments at times. Must have excellent communication and collaborative skills, organized, detailed oriented, and dedicated to following and complying with procedures including: Military & Aerospace compliance standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required. Experience with test and data acquisition software is strongly preferred. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
