Mechanical-Electrical Maintenance Technician

The Mechanical-Electrical Maintenance Technician provides mechanical and electrical support with manufacturing and automation equipment, installs, repairs, testing, and maintains electrical equipment and controls. Applications are varied and include the manufacturing facility and inclusive equipment. Candidate must be able to plan and conduct operational and performance tests on mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, experimental products, controls, and systems for new and current manufacturing processes. Applications are broad and varied, requiring inclusion of technical and business @context and solving non-routine problems to eliminate down time and decrease quality defects to the customer. This position works very closely with the Controls Engineer, Weld Engineer, Program Management, Maintenance, & Operations personnel to plan and execute projects. Essential Responsibilities/Activities: Collaborate with related teams to repair & maintain automated and manual processes involving stamping presses, assembly equipment, and robotic weld cells Provide daily support to the production group to meet plant operational goals To perform all mechanical and electrical work on process equipment, plant equipment, and associated equipment installations and repairs meeting all codes while adhering to company procedures and policies Responsible for completing necessary paperwork including machine logbooks, PM Service records, time sheets and log board entries and revisions to related drawings To work within a team to complete mechanical and electrical tasks such as new panel builds, tooling wiring & sensor installations, and other various error proofing system installations Safety focus is imperative, as well as ability to work in a regulated manufacturing environment Advanced troubleshooting capabilities for process equipment and instrumentation Ability to read and comprehend instructions, technical schematics, and building drawings Demonstrated strong safety knowledge in OSHA and NFPA regulations, including Lock Outnag Out, Confined Space and Live Electric Possess basic computer skills and knowledge of software for tracking maintenance activities. Effectively present information in small groups to contractors and employees Supports implementation and installation of new and rebuilt equipment Support Maintenance department in preventative maintenance activities Maintain product and company reputation by complying with all government regulations, IATF: 16949 system requirements, and APQP standards Competent in the cross functional application of PLC programming (logic) to assure all mechanical systems perform the functional duty as designed Disassembles machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs Orders or fabricates replacement parts On call support as needed Repair and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components on production machines such as stamping presses, material handling systems, automated assembly machines, degreasing equipment, and conveyor systems Repair/replace damaged air, chemical, and water lines Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems Aligns and adjust components on machines to improve or correct machine functionality and part quality Moves machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks Set up and operate metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press, and grinders to make or repair parts.
