Maintenance Team Leader

Are you the type of technically minded person who enjoys working with your hands, fixing, or repairing equipment, and leading others? In this role you will not only perform preventative maintenance and repairs within Vermeer manufacturing, but you will also support a group of Vermeer maintenance team members. We are looking for someone to lead and schedule the workflow of the equipment maintenance team. What You'll Do
1. Direct team members' daily activities and train team members to support departmental needs. 2. Perform and accurately record scheduled preventative maintenance and repair procedures on a variety of equipment, including but not limited to hoists, paint systems, machining centers and weld systems. 3. Create a positive customer experience when working with operators, leaders, and peers. 4. Accurately enter data into maintenance business system (Thrive). 5. Leverage an extensive knowledge of maintenance repairs for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electrical repair. 6. Perform maintenance tasks across multiple roles/disciplines (e.g. paint, machining, hoist, etc.) or serve as a subject matter expert within one specific role/discipline. 7. Troubleshoot electrical issues on equipment. 8. Train other maintenance team members and instruct them through troubleshooting techniques. What We're Looking For
- Associate's degree in the basic trades (maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electrical systems) with minimum six years basic trades/manufacturing experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education/experience required; experience working within Vermeer manufacturing, preferred. - Previous experience leading a team and providing positive internal Vermeer customer service preferred. - Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes (e.g. machining, paint, and/or weld technologies). - Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools, volt meters, read blueprints and electrical schematics, write intra-departmental communication, and apply concepts of basic math. - Utilize trouble shooting and problem-solving techniques. - Effectively communicate with managers, suppliers, and customers. - Proficient in operating the computerized maintenance system.
