Position: Clinical Imaging Assistant Per Diem - As needed Location: Arlington Heights, IL Hours: Weekdays 9-5:30, Weekends 6:30a-7p as needed Required Travel: No A Brief Overview

Reporting to the Director of Imaging Services with accountability to the Team Facilitator and the Team, assists the Technologist by providing a variety of key services in support of the Imaging Department including multiple clerical and patient service tasks. What You Will Do

Assists technologist in providing efficient patient service; assists with patient and room preparation for examinations; ensures that necessary supplies are available; greets patients and escorts them to examination room; transport patients to and from other hospital departments as needed. Calls patients to confirm appointments. Prepares patient examination films for the physician and/or technologists review; labels films with patient's name and film number; prepares new patient folder or locates existing patient folders in the Radiology File Room; delivers films to on site radiologist for reading. Obtains radiologist interpretation of patient examinations. Communicates results of tests to appropriate staff including physicians and medical office staff members, nurses, and other personnel. Performs processing duties, i.e., maintains laser/camera film processor supplies; assists in developing duplicate images for physician and patient request. Provides messenger and other miscellaneous services as required by the facilitator/technologist; obtains supplies from sterile processing or central supply as needed; transports patient specimens to the laboratory, etc. Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures. What You Will Need

The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school. Minimum of six months experience working with the public; some medical background preferred. Obtains and maintains CPR certification through the American Heart Association within three months of hire. Knowledge of medical terminology is desired at time of hire; must complete medical terminology course within first year in position if not completed prior to hire. Benefits
