San Diego Superior Court is seeking full-time college students in order to establish a new eligible list of Student Worker employment candidates. The eligible list of candidates resulting from this recruitment will replace the previous list, and may be used to fill Student Worker vacancies in all court locations as they occur and are approved to be filled. Names of qualified candidates are kept on the Student Worker eligible list for six months. After which, students are welcome to re-apply as long as they meet the minimum qualifications and the recruitment is open. Under supervision, Student Workers perform a variety of duties in support of court staff. Types of Student Worker Positions: Office/Clerical Support: Provides general clerical support to various court offices. Typical duties include pulling, delivering and filing cases; answering phones; making copies; stocking supplies; and opening mail. Stores/Supplies: Provides support to the Stores/Supplies/Property office of the court. Typical duties include delivering mail, office supplies and furniture using hand trucks or dollies; assembling office equipment and furniture using small hand tools; and acting as a courier delivering mail and supplies. A valid California Class C driver's license is required. Children's Waiting Room: Assists with the care and supervision of children whose parents or guardians are at the court on related business. Court Locations: Downtown San Diego Central Division Traffic and Juvenile Courthouses (Kearny Mesa area of San Diego) North County (Vista) East County (El Cajon) South County (Chula Vista) Salary placement depends on whether selected candidate is an undergraduate or graduate college student: Undergraduate student (pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree): $16.50/hour Graduate student (pursuing a Master's degree or higher): $17.62 - $20.43/hour, depending on semester/quarter units completed Maximum work hours are 20 hours per week (even during spring, summer, and winter breaks). Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be full-time college students currently enrolled in at least 9.0 semester units or 12.0 quarter units at an accredited college or university.
