Data Center Engineer With Cooling Equipment Expertise
Nesco Data Center and Infrastructure is seeking a Data Center Engineer with Cooling Equipment expertise in the Austin, TX area. Job Title: Data Center Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (Cooling Systems) Type: Contract (6 weeks to 6 months) with potential direct hire based on performance and synergy with client team. Overview: We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Engineer with a strong mechanical foundation, solid electrical skills, and a unique knack for diagnosing and repairing equipment. This role is for a premier data center cooling fabrication company that designs and installs custom-built cooling cabinets for mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate knows how to take apart, diagnose, and repair mechanical and low-voltage components

after receiving paid training. Key Responsibilities: Perform installation and post-sale support for custom cooling cabinets in data centers. Independently diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical and electrical components. Perform break-fix work on coils, fans, chilling hoses, and other cooling system hardware. Swap low-voltage parts and components as needed. Troubleshoot airflow and cooling performance issues. Work from mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, or verbal instructions. Maintain safety, compliance, and quality standards at all times. Travel to other data center sites as needed, particularly higher-volume locations. Attend initial training (35 days) at a designated facility, with all travel costs covered. Qualifications: Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to work on coils, fans, and custom cooling hardware. Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and part-swapping procedures. Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex systems independently. Familiarity with data center cooling systems or commercial HVAC equipment preferred. Skilled with tools and mechanical disassembly/reassembly. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel for training and occasional site visits. Preferred Experience: Prior work in data centers, critical facilities, or large-scale mechanical/electrical environments.
