Job Title
Assists customers with services related to health record documentation review and/or retrieval. Prepares and distributes accurate copies of PHI and documentation to appropriate customers in a timely manner. Maintains appropriate reference sources. Prepares and distributes accurate reports and documentation to appropriate customers. Job Requirements
Minimum Education: High School Graduate Minimum Work Experience: No experience required Required Licenses/Certifications: No certification required. Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities: Ability to carry out obligations and duties of position. Demonstrates interpersonal skills. Requires the ability to handle confidential information. Deals effectively with hospital personnel & duties of position. Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills. Skill sets in regards to answering telephones; balancing figures; inputting data into computer programs; maintaining filing systems; maintaining logs; updating patient charts including documentation and proofreading. Maintains work area according to OSHA and NIOSH standards. Skill sets in regards to equipment including but not limited to calculators; typewriter; fax machines; laser printer; personal computer; photocopier and word processor. Software mastery to include but not limited to: State of Texas Birth Certificate Registry System; 3M Softmed Chart Release; Chart View; IDX; Allscripts and additional software as needed.
