Security Guard Position at 3rd Chemical Brigade, 84th Command Battalion
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense (DOD) Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is located at the 3rd Chemical Brigade, 84th Command Battalion at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Opening and closing dates: 06/10/2025 to 06/09/2026 Salary: $44,959 - $58,445 per year Location: Fort Leonard Wood, MO Appointment type: Permanent Work schedule: Full-time Service: Competitive Security clearance: Secret The duties include carrying out the full range of security guard duties, serving as a guard on rotating shifts, preventing unauthorized entry into restricted areas, operating and monitoring security systems, maintaining shift logs, and working nights, weekends, and holidays. Conditions of employment include a suitability or fitness determination, drug testing, physical agility tests, and the ability to work in stressful situations. The position requires a clean-shaven face, wearing chemical protective clothing, and carrying firearms. It also involves being exposed to pepper spray and having a one-year probationary period. Qualifications require one year of specialized experience which includes taking appropriate actions to remediate security and safety deficiencies, providing professional customer service, and accounting for weapons and keys.
