Engineering Project Manager

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an Engineering Project Manager. The salary is negotiable and the location is Los Angeles, CA. This is a full-time position with a continuous closing date. Description/Responsibilities: As an Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for the project management of multiple capital and/or O&M projects in the Control System and Computer System areas, providing project management expertise on engineering projects and ensuring that engineering service meets Metropolitan's standards of quality, efficiency, and technical integrity. The scope of responsibility includes the day-to-day management of all project activities as well as assisting or leading the preparation of project proposals; performing and/or directing planning and scoping studies; obtaining project funding and authorization through the Board letter/Board presentation process; monitoring and controlling project scope, progress, schedules and budgets; coordinating with Water System Operations and Water Resources Management customers; identifying and coordinating environmental assessments and documentation; preparing reports; utilizing standard Metropolitan software applications: Primavera, Microsoft Project; providing regular input and updates to the CIP system; performing other initiatives related to project management or new project evaluation, as needed. Employment Standards Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level. Relevant Experience is defined as: work experience in industrial control, telecommunications, and/or power systems, their operational characteristics and capabilities, and their requirements; or performing project and/or design management duties in the selection, procurement, and installation of process equipment/facilities in the water, waste water, power or oil/gas industries. Related field of study include: Engineering degree in any of the following: Mechanical, Chemical, and/or Electrical/Electronics.
