Cable Technician

ValidaTek is searching for a Cable Technician supporting a large telecommunications and networking infrastructure in a secured DoD environment. This role will focus on installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic and cabling systems to ensure connectivity and performance. The Cable Technician will adhere to all applicable rules and regulations, focusing on the utilization of best practices and safety. This role will conduct routine maintenance checks and emergency repairs as needed and ensure proper documentation of all installations and repairs. Responsibilities

To be considered for this position, candidates must have the following: 3+ years of related telecommunications experience working as a Cable Technician within a DoD IT environment. Must be familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards. Must be well versed in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters. Experience analyzing, administering, and maintaining a telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure. Experience dressing, terminating, and testing cables and components. Must have ability to work with power tools and ladders. Experience testing, locating, installing, and repairing cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls and performing routine maintenance. Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing voice and data communications systems. Experience identifying, tracking, and removing abandoned cable and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards. Must have related certifications for Fiber Optic Cable and CAT6 Cable Installation. Must have strong customer support and communication skills with leadership and stakeholders. Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy. All candidates must have BISCI Installer (Copper and/or Fiber) certification. All candidates must have an active secret clearance. All candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience Salary

USD $38,934.00/Yr. to USD $64,890.00/Yr. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance. This includes factors such as education, certifications, and extensive/unique experience beyond what is required. EEO Statement
