-Develop and qualify robust industrial processes for defense-grade steel forgings, ensuring first article compliance with defense standards. -Lead first article inspections (FAI) and process validations to deliver battle-ready products. -Use CpK/PpK statistical analysis and tools (8D, 5-Why) to ensure process capability and stability. -Apply SPC and stats tools (Minitab, Excel, R-Shiny) to maintain tight process control. -Leverage expertise in metal processing, including heat treating and chemical coatings, to meet defense specifications. -Drive Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize processes and eliminate inefficiencies. -Be the process engineering point for customers and suppliers, no excuses. -Oversee 4 shift supervisors and multiple process technicians across four shifts. Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's in Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering. Experience: 7-10+ years in process engineering management; developed and qualified processes for defense, aerospace, or complex manufacturing/assembly; experience with first article inspections a plus. Technical Skills: CpK/PPK analysis, SPC, RCCA tools (8D, 5-Why), Minitab, R-Shiny. Leadership/Work Style: Hands-on leader; team builder, thrives under pressure. Soft Skills: Sharp communicator; proactive problem-solver, coach/mentor. Physical Requirements: Stand, walk, lift 50 lbs in a gritty shop with heat and noise. Preferred Qualifications:
Defense standards knowledge (MIL-STD, ITAR). Expertise in metal processing, including heat treating and chemical coatings for ferrous, non-ferrous, and super alloys. Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (ultrasonic, dye penetrant) for process validation. Six Sigma Black Belt or ASQ Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE). Work Environment: You'll fight on the shop floor in Dallas, with occasional office time and travel for process validations or customer ops. Exceptional talent shouldn't be bound by geography.
