Maintenance Worker Union
The Maintenance Worker union will: Provide minor maintenance duties for 220+ Scatter Site Apartments in the Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn Rockaway Scatter Site and Broadway Scatter Site Housing Program Collect and dispose of garbage from all offices and common areas on a daily basis (in the location where Scatter Site Team is located) Submit requisitions for necessary maintenance/repair supplies to the AA on a weekly basis and control the inventory of supplies Complete the monthly physical plant and fire safety audit of the facility (as needed) Establish and execute a formalized preventative maintenance schedule for Scatter Site Units, i.e. minor painting, plastering, changing locks, changing lighting fixtures, light bulbs, stripping and waxing floors, installing shades, etc. Install Smoke / Carbon Monoxide Detectors and Fire Extinguishers; Install AC's when needed Winterize some apartment windows when needed Ensure the overall cleanliness of the Storage Room for Scatter Site Supplies and Materials Installation of Scatter Site Apartment Program furniture and appliances Participate in moving clients in and out of the apartments Turnover apartment once tenant moves and prepare for new move in Maintain vehicle maintenance/mileage record prior to and upon returning from trips Regular attendance in staff meetings and trainings Participate in Adult Daily Living Skills training (ADL) as needed or in a group setting with Wellness Coach Participate in meetings as assigned including supervisory and service planning meetings Adhere diligently to all life-safety policies and procedures Any other duties as assigned by the Program Director or designees Adhere to on call cell phone system to facilitate crisis intervention, emergencies and other situations that require immediate action Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED preferred At least one year of maintenance/cleaning experience in a large residential/program setting Must possess good interpersonal skills Experience with Homeless Families and Mental health a plus Experience working with the Young Adult population preferred Drivers License Required Company Overview: S:US IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Join a team of employees who cares about the wellbeing of others.
