Sand Valley is a golf resort and community settled gently upon 12,000 acres of rugged, pre-historic sand dunes in central Wisconsin. Here, residents and guests will find five world-class golf courses built in harmony with the land: Sand Valley, Mammoth Dunes, The Sandbox, The Lido, and Sedge Valley. Founded in 2016 by brothers Michael and Chris Keiser, the resort is known for its friendly hospitality and a community of golf and outdoor enthusiasts who have been drawn to the raw beauty and serenity of the vast Wisconsin Wilderness. Inspired by the heathland golf courses of London, Sand Valley showcases golf as it was meant to be, much like the other Dream Golf properties, Bandon Dunes and Rodeo Dunes. Beyond premier golf, Sand Valley is a year-round celebration of all the outdoors from fat-tire biking, hiking, and kayaking to ice hockey, skating, or a guided cold plunge. The resort now features a 13,000-square-foot Tennis Center with 16 grass tennis courts and the eleventh Court Tennis facility in the United States. At Sand Valley, our team is the heart of what we doand the Human Resources Manager plays a vital role in supporting that team. This position leads the daily operations of our People & Culture department and partners with staff and leaders across the resort to ensure a supportive, compliant, and welcoming workplace. From onboarding new team members to managing benefits and employee housing, the HR Manager helps create an environment where employees feel valued, informed, and cared for. This role requires strong attention to detail, a high level of confidentiality, and most importantly, a genuine passion for people. The HR Manager works closely with the Director of People & Culture to uphold and champion the values that make Sand Valley special genuineness, stewardship, collaboration, curiosity, and passion. Core Responsibilities
HR Operations & Compliance Lead daily HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, personnel changes, and file maintenance. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, leave administration, etc.). Manage unemployment claims, wage garnishments, employment verifications, and required documentation. Conduct regular audits within the HRIS (ADP) to ensure accuracy in employee data, classifications, and compensation. Maintain all mandatory HR postings and internal policy adherence. Assist with reporting and audit processes as needed. Employee Experience & Communication Facilitate a smooth and welcoming onboarding and offboarding experience for seasonal and year-round staff. Provide clear and timely communication regarding benefits, policies, and available resources. Act as a trusted point of contact for employee questions, concerns, or personal challengesalways maintaining confidentiality and empathy. Reinforce consistency in the application of workplace policies and expectations outlined in the Team Member Handbook. Employee Housing Coordination Oversee the day-to-day management of employee housing, including on-site and off-site locations (e.g., 3410 8th St. Hotel property). Manage housing agreements, move-ins/move-outs, deposits, and communication with residents. Serve as the first point of contact for all employee housing matters. Collaboration & Culture Partner with the Director of People & Culture on community outreach and team engagement initiatives. Help plan and execute internal events such as Anniversary Luncheons and the End-of-Season Celebration. Work alongside the HR Coordinator to continuously improve onboarding, training, and exit processes. Embody and promote the values of Sand Valley in all aspects of your work. What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in hospitality or a seasonal business. Solid understanding of HR compliance, benefits administration, and experience with HRIS (ADP a plus). Exceptional interpersonal and communication skillsboth written and verbal. Ability to work with discretion, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
