Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Position Summary To lead Physical Education activities for school aged children. Instructing the students on the specific class technique as well as general health and fitness tips. Essential Functions Instruct program participants Ensure effective preparation for each class, including class format, music and equipment. Must be able to lift & carry 401bs. Meet all health and safety regulations as defined by Health Department & The Salvation Army. Must be in good physical and mental health. Capable of meeting high demands of Fitness department. Working Conditions Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift up to 10lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinets drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years. Must uphold and enhance public appreciation and trust for the fitness industry. Maintain the confidentiality of all student information. Demonstrate the ability to relate positively and energetically with coworkers and participants. Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving. Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision. Thrive in a team-oriented environment. Be a team player. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Ability to communicate effectively with program participants and staff. Ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude in working with coworkers and participants. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure. Ability to empathize and communicate with low-income and vulnerable people.
