Machine Operator Helper
We are seeking an Operator Helper to assist with the setup and operation of tandem rolling mill machinery. This role involves installation and adjustment of rolls, threading up, first piece inspection, welding, and general clean up. You will utilize precision measurement instruments and tape measures, perform basic shop math calculations, and set up and operate wire machines with minimal supervision. Shift Schedule: A Shift (Sun-Tues 4am-4pm, Wed 4am-10am) B Shift (Sun-Tues 4pm-4am, Wed 4pm-10pm) C Shift (Thurs-Sat 4am-4pm, Wed 10am-4pm) D Shift (Thurs-Sat 4pm-4am, Wed 10pm-4am) Responsibilities: Assist with the setup and operation of tandem rolling mill machinery. Install and adjust rolls, threading up, and conduct first piece inspections. Perform welding and general clean-up tasks. Utilize precision measurement instruments and tape measure. Perform basic shop math calculations. Set up and operate wire machine with minimum supervision. Change over equipment and ensure quality of product. Make necessary adjustments to produce quality products. Conduct tests and measurements to assure product meets required specifications. Keep accurate product data and records. Correct or adjust machine malfunctions immediately to ensure continuity of production. Report major machine malfunctions to Supervisor. Continually inspect products while performing other duties. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Assist in other duties as directed. Essential Skills: Machine operation experience Ability to read measurements (tape measure/micrometers/calipers). Mechanically inclined. Forklift experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. 6+ months of heavy manufacturing experience required. Prefer at least 6 months of machine operation experience. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs throughout the shift. Why Work Here?
