Your impact At Jacobs we are looking for a Planning Support Professional. This role advises and supports the Bus Network Redesign project by coordinating activities related to implementation of new service, infrastructure improvements, and digital as well as print passenger information materials. Assists with coordinating outreach activities. Advises and supports regional planning efforts, system planning efforts, and policy development, and acts as a key technical and advisory resource. Responsibilities include: Coordinating project implementation and launch activities related to the Bus Network Redesign's service change and mark-up process with Planning, Bus Operations, IT, Facilities, and other internal stakeholders. Advising and supporting project infrastructure implementation activities with Planning, Infrastructure, Facilities, contractors, and the project's consultant team. Conducting and supporting outreach activities with External Affairs, including efforts targeted to riders, employees, stakeholders, and the general public. Conducting project communications throughout the organization, development, and implementation of employee "inreach" activities. Assisting the Bus Network Redesign PM with project management activities such as the project schedule, scope, budget, risk register, and monitoring project activity status. Guiding development of project collateral and transit information designed to educate riders about the new network. Preparing reports and analyses feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and demand related to system initiatives and expansion efforts. Serving as a technical resource, providing consultation and expert advice to management relating to regional planning, service planning, and network changes. Assisting with regional and policy planning, including service coordination efforts with other regional transit partners and the development of service policies. Participating in local and regional planning initiatives and committees, maintaining relationships with regional planning partners. Performing other related duties as assigned. Here's what you'll need: The ideal candidate should have at least ten years of experience in a transit planning or management role, as well as first-hand experience with major transit service changes or network redesigns and long-range planning studies. The candidate should also have a strong understanding of customer service principles, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with computers and graphic design software. The candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and in a team setting. Extensive experience in various aspects of contract management, including scope development, budgeting, and negotiation and administration. Sound knowledge of transit service planning and operations principles is required. An understanding of transit operations and various transit modes, including bus, rail, and on-demand service, is required. Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under schedules and deadlines is crucial. A Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning or a related discipline and a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, design, management, and administration of transit service. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
