FPGA Engineer
Location: Reston, Virginia, United States Client will pay for relocation costs for those outside of the DC Metro area About the Role: District Partners has been engaged to assist with the hiring of an experienced FPGA Engineer to develop and implement cutting-edge solutions for mission-critical applications. This role involves working with advanced technology to support national security efforts by designing, testing, and optimizing FPGA-based systems. What You'll Do:
Rapidly develop, test, and implement FPGA designs using Xilinx SoC/FPGA. Integrate third-party vendor IP as needed. Perform digital circuit design, VHDL/Verilog coding, simulation (synthesis, timing), and verification. Participate in the entire design life cyclefrom concept and requirements gathering to hands-on testing and system deployment. Implement various signal types, including high-speed communications (Ethernet, serial) and signal processing (analog, digital). Ensure designs meet relevant safety and performance standards with traceability to top-level system requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve bugs at both the HDL and system levels. Required Qualifications:
Active U.S. Secret security clearance. 5+ years of experience in FPGA/HDL hardware design (Xilinx SoC experience highly preferred). Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog. Familiarity with design software such as Vivado (preferred), ModelSim, or Quartus. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience in SoC hardware bring-up, preferably on ARM-based systems. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with FPGA interfaces and high-speed buses. Background in designing for safety-critical functions. Knowledge of Systems on a Chip (SoC). Low-level firmware (C/C++) development for bring-up and testing. Salary Range $140,000 - $205,000 USD The salary range is an estimate based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and skill set. Compensation packages may also include equity grants or other benefits.
