Milburn Ave. Suite 101, Fresno, CA 93722 Benefits: Health Insurance Dental & Vision Insurance 401K Life Insurance PTO & Holidays Short- & Long-Term Disability Position Summary: A Medical Scribe's responsibilities include collaborating with physicians and performing clerical tasks like printing out lab reports or charting doctor's appointments, operating electronic health records, and anticipating the needs of the physician to ensure efficiency in a clinical setting. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Preparing and assembling medical record documentation/charts for the physician Updating patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient Organizing and sending all documentation to physician for review Fill out summaries of what was discussed during the consultation or treatment session Send referral letters on behalf of your patient's insurer Taking notes during patient visits and documenting them in the electronic health records system, NextGen Learning about the medical process and using a team approach in patient supervision and documentation Working with a supervising Physician or Doctor to complete and submit medical records Communicating with patients and supervising Physicians professionally Completing all administrative tasks efficiently and helping the Physician take tests and give out medication Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual shall be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable experience. One year's medical office experience preferred. Current CPR certification required. Medical Assistant Certification a plus. Must be self-directed and able to work independently. Attention to detail a must. Professional, calm, and courteous demeanor Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word Experience with NextGen EMR system is a plus! Physical Demands: Anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds in any given day. Lifting up to 40-50 pounds may occasionally be required, depending on the specific style or type of care provided. In the performance of certain patient care tasks, the Medical Assistant may be expected to have sufficient manual dexterity in order to safely perform various skills and techniques. Tasks and expectations may vary by clinical site and medical practice. Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner. May be exposed to acutely ill patients, communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, and airborne allergens used during skin testing and immunotherapy. Work Environment: Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation; Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic). Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with regular working hours; Occasional overtime may be required.
