A high school diploma or GED with training in accounting and bookkeeping procedures. Three years' experience is required; at least one of which should be comparable in duties and responsibilities to that of a School Bookkeeper. Must meet background clearance as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations. Salary Level: 18 FLSA Status: Non-exempt Reports To: Assigned Administrator Terms Of Employment: Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system's approved compensation plan. Length of the year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system. Required Duties And Responsibilities
Assists in the maintenance of required records. Assists in receiving and routing all incoming telephone calls. Assists in operating office machines such as copier, fax machine, paper cutter, and hole puncher. Assists in the filing of correspondence or other records in the prescribed manner. Assists in the collection of teaching/instructional materials. Assists in the maintenance of office machines. Assures appropriate supplies are maintained. Supervises student office assistants. Types a variety of materials from rough draft or corrected copy. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students, personnel, and all job related matters. Computes amounts and checks totals on report forms or purchase orders. Greets all visitors promptly and courteously, determines their needs, checks appointments, and directs or escorts them to the proper person. Participates in in-service training programs as assigned. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively. Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to recognize problems, collect data, gather facts, and make reasonable decisions.
