NextEra Energy's Power Generation Division is looking for an Engineering Leader for the GE 7F/7HA Combustion Turbine technology, reporting up to the Combustion Turbine Fleet Team (CTFT) manager. This Engineering Leader will oversee a team of combustion turbine engineers, responsible for combustion turbine reliability, troubleshooting, technical investigations / root cause analysis issue resolutions, spare parts management, and outage planning. The Leader will be responsible for setting strategic initiatives and reporting to upper-level management on the overall performance and health of all NextEra combustion turbine assets. Successful management of this large fleet of advanced combustion turbines requires balancing strategic overhaul and reliability goals with competing business needs. Strong relationships with the power plant management and operational teams, central maintenance organization, peer engineering fleet teams, and OEMs/contractors are essential to be successful in this role. The Engineering Leader of the GE 7F/7H Combustion Turbine technology will own and be accountable for the following key responsibilities: Provide technical oversight and guidance for trouble shooting and technical decision making, ensuring consistency across the GE 7F/7H fleet, both Combined Cycle and Simple Cycle turbines. Manage documentation and currency of Engineering Requests, Work Orders, OEM Bulletins and change management in our work management system, Maximo. Support proactive outage planning and annual budget planning, ensuring that plans account for GE 7F/7H fleet lessons learned. Foster a team culture that embodies the NextEra values and promotes safety and collaboration. Manage OEM relationship while advancing technical issues towards swift resolutions keeping long term goals in mind. Consolidation and presentation of root cause analyses, fleet challenges, and OEM progress to senior leadership. Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive engineering programs and activities. Leadership of team communication rhythms and accountability for risk assessment and technical decision making for the GE 7F/7H combustion turbine fleet. Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering Experience: 10+ years combustion and/or turbomachinery engineering Demonstrated technical leadership experience Overnight travel may be required, but typically does not average more than 15% on an annual basis After-hours support is expected and typically involves phone consultations and occasional call outs. Preferred Qualifications: 15+ years of combustion turbine engineering experience Strong communications/presentation skills Demonstrated field and/or design experience Six Sigma certification Complex Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience
