Quality Control Inspector

Quality Control Inspectors perform duties as the Maintenance Shift Trainer and responsible for performing the inspection and return-to-service functions for the maintenance operations performed at the repair station. The Quality Control Inspector plays a vital role in ensuring that our aircraft, engines, and components are maintained and repaired to the highest quality and safety standards and ensuring that airworthiness and reliability standards are achieved and unwavering. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Maintain work environment to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly aircraft hangar Ensure safe and legal practices in accordance with FAA regulations and United Aviate policies, procedures and regulations Ensure all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals Perform in-process inspections for all critical operations, Required Inspection Items (RII), torque verifications, and any steps or operations that would not be visible for inspection after assembly or completion Perform final inspections of aircraft, engines, systems or sections, bays/compartments, prior to closure of panels or cowls Perform verification and reviews of maintenance operations to ensure all applicable procedures and processes are followed Verification and review of all maintenance documentation to ensure compliance with internal and external standards and policies Perform final inspections and return-to-service inspections Assist technicians in the performance of their duties in the form of mentoring, training, and procedural inputs (utilizing approved reference materials) Support the Quality group with any audits, investigations, trends, issues, or corrective action plans, etc. Participate in and provide inputs to regular inspector team meetings Must maintain a neat and professional appearance Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications

Minimum Requirements Experience Quality Control Inspectors must be Airframe & Powerplant certificate holders with a minimum of five years' experience in aviation maintenance. QCI personnel must have an in-depth knowledge and experience with the following: Applicable FAA regulations Repair Station procedures, policies, processes, and requirements Inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine airworthiness. Ability to understand and interpret aircraft technical data Demonstrated high level of Attention-To-Detail Education The requirement to be a certified mechanic (and/or inspector) through FAA for a U.S. citizen include: High School Diploma or Equivalent required Minimum age requirement of 18 years old Fluent in English Possess an Airframe & Powerplant Certification Essential Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors Must be qualified as an inspector (level 2) on the Repair Station Roster Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills and be able to interact with a wide variety of people Advanced computer skills (MS office programs, such as Word, Excel) are preferred Advanced knowledge and ability to navigate Corridor (maintenance software) Ability to successfully work with others as part of a team to achieve established goals Ability to work independently and within a team setting Outstanding attention to detail, organizational skills, valuing safety and adhering to company policies Embrace, enforce, and promote the highest quality and safety standards Ability to train and mentor technicians in the performance of their roles effectively and accurately to foster overall reliability and quality results In-depth knowledge of the general principles of inspections and continuous development of aircraft-specific knowledge and inspection details Commitment to the company culture as a subsidiary of United Airlines and valuing the Core4 principles United Aviate Academy is an equal opportunity employer.
