This position is responsible for assisting with the execution of privacy work plans, periodic privacy risk assessments, and conducting ongoing privacy monitoring activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies. In addition, this position assists in ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance, and adherence to EHCs HIPAA privacy policies/procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: Investigates and manages privacy incidents and potential breaches of protected health information (PHI) received via the Trust Line, and EHC Office of Compliance and Privacy Compliance Office. Utilizing breach risk assessment tools as appropriate, documenting within the tracking system, mitigating, and completing necessary notification letters and other follow-up. Reviews privacy alerts within EHC's privacy monitoring tool, Maize, and performs investigations as appropriate, including partnering with organizational leaders and Employee Advisory Council where required. Performs privacy access audits as requested and documents within tracking system. Collaborates with Digital Security team for Break the Glass processing, investigation, and reporting. Completes tracking and analysis of privacy incidents received and managed for reporting. Works with Office of Compliance and Privacy Office leadership as well as other key clinical and operational leaders on privacy investigations, issues, and matters. Performs additional departmental duties as assigned. Education and experience requirements: Bachelors degree required. Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or related academic certification required Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in a healthcare organization Knowledge, skill, and ability requirements: Ability to learn project management methodologies, tools, and strategies Skilled in oral and written communications Ability to work as team player to accomplish project goals Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills Ability to use Microsoft office suite programs for daily work and data input and retrieval Ability to adjust to changing work demands necessitated by fluctuations in workload or program requirements Additional Details
