Lead Electrician
Under general direction of the Director/Manager of Plant Operations, coordinator of Lead Electrician, Electricians and other support staff in the operation, maintenance, repair and installation of the primary, secondary, etc. components of the electrical distribution, communication, and all fixed and non-fixed non-patient care electrical equipment in a safe, effective, efficient manner in response to or in support of customer needs. In addition, functions as a Special Project Coordinator by performing system analysis and monitoring and/or coordinating the activities of contracted service or construction companies as they perform their services. Must fill out completed work orders and/or daily time sheets and turn them in daily. Monitors and maintains required supplies and tools in a neat and orderly fashion insuring that proper inventory is maintained, tools are functioning properly and readily accessible and that the work/production areas are in a clean and neat manner as evidenced by management or regulatory observation. Notify management of needed supplies in a timely manner by filling out material request forms. Essential Functions
Operates, maintains, repairs and installs electrical equipment and systems in the hospital according to the manufacture and hospital procedures and policies in accordance with regulatory codes and standards to assure proper operation and safety. Maintains electrical distribution system including primary and secondary switchgear, motor control centers, main and secondary breakers, branch circuit breaker panels. Perform corrective and preventative work order requests on ensure proper operations of electrical distribution system. Install and repair lighting, low voltage devices, clocks, timers, intercoms, nurse call systems, dietary equipment as requested. Orients and trains new employees and provides continuing guidance and on-the-job training to all assigned personnel. Trains other trades personnel during the start-ups of newly constructed or renovated areas, new equipment installs or from yearly in-services. Assist with the work of contractors as necessary. Responsible for installing and maintaining dust barrier when performing job duties. Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis. Pay starting at $28.62 Qualifications
Required LIC-Electrician, Master - STATE_MI State of Michigan High School Diploma or equivalent 10 years of documented work experience in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical utility production and distribution systems in a commercial, industrial or institutional facility.
