To direct, build and develop product ideas for Dresses, Skirts, and Sweaters categories. Work closely with Directors, Design, Technical Design Sourcing Team, and Merchants to execute to Seasonal Concept direction, line plan style needs, margin requirements, and completion of product. Manage Brand Integrity through internal and external Design and Product Development. Continue to evolve Lane Bryant's product process. High taste level, ability to identify trends, bring newness to the table and translate concepts into wearable commercially appealing collection. The impact you can have: Manage multiple seasons within your category/categories Knowledge of customer needs/wants as well as current and emerging trends with the ability to translate into brand-right product, balancing core and fashion Partner with R&D and Sourcing to research and develop core and key fabrications, trim, embellishment appropriate to the category. Initiate test recommendations on a seasonal and ongoing basis Clearly present design point of view at seasonal design owned PLC meetings to senior management and merchant team Attend all Fit sessions pertaining to your product working closely with the Technical Design partners to maintain initial vision and Brand fit Execute timelines on Product Calendar and Line Plan needs Manage/Communication with Agent/Vendor offices to ensure correct design detail execution for categories Manage, coach, evaluate direct reports and foster their professional development Partner with merchants to know and understand sales of your category and be able to apply this sales knowledge to future development Communicate design intent to team, Sourcing, TD, and Merchants You'll bring to the role: 7-10 years of experience in a design or product development related position for a fashion retailer. Extensive background in fit, fabric development, finishes and construction details. Bachelor's degree in design or related field preferred. Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point. Prior PLM, Adobe Illustrator and Kaleidostyle experience preferred. Excellent managerial, organization and leadership skills Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
