Field Supervisor
This vacancy is for a Field Supervisor (FS) position supporting Special Census (SC) operations for Westfield, IN. This position reports to the U.S. Census Bureau's Chicago Regional Office. Applicants selected will have their home as their Duty Station and will be required to travel throughout their local area. Opening and closing dates: 06/13/2025 to 08/08/2025 Salary: $28.50 per hour Locations: Few vacancies in the following locations: All of Boone County, IN All of Hamilton County, IN All of Hancock County, IN All of Hendricks County, IN This position is not remote, does not allow for telework, and requires 76% or greater travel. There is no reimbursement for relocation expenses. The appointment type is temporary with a 90-day not-to-exceed date. The work schedule is intermittent, and the service is excepted. The position has no promotion potential and falls under the job family series 0303 Miscellaneous Clerk and Assistant. Supervisory status is yes, and the security clearance required is confidential. A drug test is not required, and the position sensitivity and risk is non-sensitive (NS)/low risk. The suitability/fitness trust determination process applies. There is no financial disclosure or bargaining unit status required. This job is open to the public, career transition (CTAP, ICTAP) federal employees, and veterans. The clarification from the agency is that all U.S. citizens who will have a physical residence within the area of consideration at the time of hire are eligible. Duties include leading a team of field representatives, conducting interviews, understanding the SC being conducted, assisting with the training of field representatives, conducting in person interviews, and evaluating, monitoring, and mentoring field representative performance. Requirements include maintaining a residence within the area of consideration, being 18 years old, being a US citizen, having good hearing and the ability to read small print, being in good physical condition, being willing to travel, having access to a vehicle or public transportation, establishing and maintaining a safe work environment, having access to a landline or mobile phone, being willing to use all methods of communication, being willing to accept all assignments, being suitable for federal employment, being registered for selective service if applicable, meeting all qualification requirements by the closing date, and completing a one or two-year trial period. Qualifications require one year of specialized experience in interviewing clients, completing work assignments, and applying procedural guidance. Education cannot be substituted for experience.
