Collections Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Collections Specialist for our client on a short-term contract basis in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this role, you will focus on managing and resolving outstanding payments while maintaining strong relationships with clients and ensuring compliance with company policies. This position requires expertise in commercial and consumer collections, along with a keen eye for detail and exceptional communication skills. Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the collection of outstanding payments from both commercial and consumer accounts. Analyze aged and aging reports to prioritize collection efforts and ensure timely resolution of overdue accounts. Communicate with customers to address billing discrepancies and negotiate payment solutions. Maintain accurate records of all collection activities, including payment arrangements and follow-ups. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve account disputes and improve overall collection processes. Utilize NetSuite and Microsoft Excel to track, update, and report on collection data. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations during collection activities. Provide exceptional customer service to maintain positive client relationships while resolving payment issues. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the collection's workflow. Prepare regular reports on collection performance and outstanding accounts for management review. Requirements: Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections. Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel for managing financial data. Strong understanding of aged and aging reports and their application in collections. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and resolving disputes. Ability to analyze data and identify trends to improve collection strategies. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records. Knowledge of billing collection processes and compliance standards. Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service in challenging situations.
