Job Opportunity With The City of Carson
The City of Carson is seeking candidates for a part-time position with a salary range of $29.66 to $37.86 hourly. This position is located in Carson, CA, and involves operating buses of various sizes to provide safe and efficient transportation services to citizens. The work week schedule is Monday to Friday, with weekends as needed. Work hours vary from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Position
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the role involves operating buses of various sizes, inspecting buses before operation, maintaining vehicles in clean and proper working condition, and providing assistance to passengers. The position also requires observing legal and safe driving practices, maintaining records and logs, and performing basic first aid as necessary. Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates should have sufficient education and training to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities required for the role, along with two years of experience in the operation of public transportation vehicles. Knowledge of safe driving practices, laws related to public transportation, basic first aid procedures, record-keeping techniques, and basic preventive maintenance of buses is essential. Skills include operating buses safely and efficiently, recognizing equipment malfunctions, maintaining vehicles, reading and interpreting maps, communicating effectively, observing legal and defensive driving practices, assisting handicapped passengers, performing basic first aid, understanding and following directions, and maintaining records and logs. A valid California A or B Driver's License, passenger endorsement, Medical Examiner's Certificate, California Verification of Transit Training (VTT) certificate, and a current DMV driving record printout (K4) reflecting a good driving record are required. A valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate is desirable. Working Conditions
