Responsible for recruiting high-achieving students to the Ogden Honors College. This includes leading tours of the Honors campus, scheduling visits to high schools, and engaging with prospective students, parents, and counselors to provide information on admission requirements and program benefits. Maintains communication via phone, mail, and email throughout the recruitment and admission processes. Event Coordination (25%):
Assists the Director of Enrollment Management in planning Honors College recruiting events and coordinating participation in university-wide recruiting events. Admissions (20%):
Supports all stages of the admissions cycle, including application processing, review, decision-making, and enrollment. Ensures timely review of applications by monitoring files for completeness and addressing questions from applicants. Training and Development (15%):
Coordinates with the Office of Enrollment Management to stay informed about LSU admissions processes, including applications, scholarships, housing, required documents, deadlines, fees, and special programs. Participates in ongoing training to stay current with changes and updates. Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements: Minor Contact:
This position and/or position's responsibilities require work directly with minors. Fingerprinting and a National Sex Offender Registry check are required per FASOP HR-04.
FERPA:
As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health-related matter, they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students, or the appropriate law enforcement agency. The employee outside of those rights contained within FERPA should create no impression of client or patient confidentiality.
Additional Information:
Must be willing to travel and work nights/weekends, especially during peak periods. Uniform may be required. The location of this position is LSU-BR and is not eligible for remote work. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience related to recruitment LSU values skills, experience, and expertise. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply a degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified in the job description. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Experience in college admissions or higher education/student affairs Experience in marketing concepts Knowledge of best practices in student recruitment Demonstrated ability to holistically evaluate applications Special Instructions:
