Economic Development Director
The Economic Development Director provides direction, administration, and planning to implement McKenzie County's Economic Development Strategic Plan. This position is located in Watford City, ND, scheduled for Monday
Friday, and reports directly to the Board of County Commissioners. Beginning salary range: $90,668.85-$98,122.25. The salary range listed reflects compensation for entry-level to approximately ten years of relevant experience. Final salary offers will be based on qualifications and experience. Essential Job Functions
Directs all planning, program development, budget development and control, employee training and development, procedure and policy development for consideration of the Board of County Commissioners Directs the formulation, administration, and management of Economic Development department goals and objectives Develops and maintains effective relationships with McKenzie County elected officials, department heads, other local governmental managers and officials, and the public at large Coordinate and implement projects and programs that support commercial, office, and industrial development; business attraction; business retention; development of public facilities and infrastructure; small business development initiatives; workforce and community development initiatives; community marketing initiatives and other economic development, redevelopment, or capital improvement programs or projects Establish economic development programs which create a framework for encouraging and facilitating entrepreneurial based business development by coordinating access to local, regional, State, and Federal resources Work with the Job Development Authority (JDA) Board to establish a long range plan that aligns the economic development goals and objective with community needs; formulate and recommend policies to the JDA Board Other duties as assigned for business needs Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Community Planning, Public Administration or related field 5 years' experience in Marketing, Community Planning or related field 3 years' experience in supervision of staff Valid driver's license High School Diploma or GED Proficient with MS Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must be able to report to Watford City, ND daily at required schedule time Physical requirements and working conditions: Able to handle exposure to extreme weather conditions Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, kneel, stoop, sit, walk extensively Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, and intense noises
