Assistant Superintendent

Selectek is seeking an Assistant Superintendent with significant surveying experience to join their team and contribute to an exciting high-rise expansion project. This project includes the addition of six stories to a 21-story building and the construction of new elements surrounding the building. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surveying and layout, a keen attention to detail, and a passion for growing within the construction industry, with the potential to progress to roles such as Superintendent, or even Project Manager. Key Responsibilities:

Surveying & Layout: Lead the layout process for pilings, building footprints, and building additions. Must be highly skilled in creating, shooting, and pulling control points from existing landmarks or structures. As-Built Drawings: Accurately document as-built layouts to track changes made during construction and ensure they are reflected in project documentation. Building Layouts: Conduct and verify building layout to ensure proper alignment, using control points and building markers. Revit Experience: Overlay field data on blueprints using Revit to help visualize construction updates and assist the team with construction coordination. While deep experience with Revit isn't required, familiarity with the software is essential. Overseeing Work Crews: Ensuring work at the job site is pushing forward in the right direction. Technology Proficiency: Strong skills with Excel and other construction-related technology to track data, update project documents, and manage reporting. Problem-Solving & Leadership: Actively contribute to solving problems on-site, focusing on solutions rather than assigning blame. Lead by example and demonstrate a calm, composed approach under pressure while maintaining high performance standards. Team Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the project team, including subcontractors, to ensure accurate layout and construction progress. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, keeping them informed of developments and addressing issues promptly. Growth and Development: This position is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to grow their career. You will start with layout tasks and progressively take on more responsibilities, eventually moving into a field engineer role and potentially advancing to Superintendent or Project Manager. Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years of surveying and field engineering experience, with a strong focus on layout and surveying control. Proficient in Revit (overlaying field data on plans), and comfortable using Excel and other construction technology tools for data tracking and reporting. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. A meticulous and highly organized approach to ensuring accuracy in layout, construction, and documentation. Calm, cool-tempered, and respectful of others on the job site. Able to handle high-pressure situations and work well under stress. Proven ability to take charge in challenging situations and demonstrate leadership qualities that contribute to the success of the project. Driven and eager for advancement, with the goal of moving into more senior roles such as Field Engineer, Superintendent, or Project Manager. Ability to work efficiently and effectively, managing multiple tasks at once and ensuring the timely completion of critical milestones.
