Emergency Department Technician
The George Washington University Hospital is a 385-bed academic medical center in downtown Washington, DC. Position Summary: The ED Tech supports physicians, nurses, and other care team members by delivering hands-on clinical and logistical support to patients in the Emergency Department. This includes assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, transporting patients, and maintaining the readiness of the ED environment. Obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, assist with splints, wound care, and orthopedic procedures Assist with patient transport, mobility, and hygiene Collect lab specimens and conduct point-of-care testing Maintain supplies and clean patient care areas Assist with patient monitoring and comfort measures Document care activities in the electronic medical record Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Current BLS certification (AHA) EMT certification or experience in acute care preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations About Universal Health Services: One of the nation's largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services, Universal Health Services, Inc. has built an impressive record of achievement and performance.
