Room Service Attendant
Location: Hotel Arista Department: Hotel Arista Food & Beverage Reports To: F&B Manager Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Compensation Range: $15/hour plus service charge and gratuity, commensurate with experience and education. Role Summary
Servicing guest needs by providing exceptional service along with transporting food orders and amenities including any special needs and/or requests to the guest in room in a timely manner and ensure proper food quality. Responsibilities
Efficiently take food and beverage orders and convey those to the kitchen in detail. Checks VIP list to ensure recognition of such a person when he/she calls room service. Records transactions in POS at time of order. Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. Communicates special instructions to the kitchen as needed. Ensure quality of all food items, ingredients and preparation methods. Deliver food orders including any special needs or requests to the guest in-room, check completed kitchen orders with the order taker or guest's original order; transport items to the guestroom in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality. Greet guests, describe selected items to the guest using interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item's, origin, taste, and preparation methods; communicate options for removal of trays and dishware; respond to request for tray removal according to established time standards. Checks for guest satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages. Breakdown, clean and set-up of room service tables, warming box, condiment set-ups, flatware, dishware and glassware after each use. Properly and accurately close guest checks securing room number and signature; properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all menu items and about different services offered throughout the hotel. Ensures oncoming shift has adequate supply of silverware, trays, napkins, condiments, sugar, salt and pepper, etc. Understands applicable emergency procedure and evacuation. Performs related duties as assigned by manager. Perform related side work and daily check list items such as: Polishing Silverware and glassware. Folding Napkins and Table Linens. Pre-set In Room Dining Trays. Maintain work area (e.g. Clean, Organize, Sweep/Mop Floors, Remove Dining Tray from service landings). Empty Trash Follow up with guest (Checking for Satisfaction within required times). Retrieve dining trays from guests' rooms as requested. Remove In Room Dining equipment from Housekeeping areas. Walk Guest Floors Deliver Ice Buckets to Guest Rooms Refresh Water Stations in Living Room and on VIP Floors (required time) Clean In Room Tables and Warming Box Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers Minimum one year's food service or related work preferred. Ability to communicate professional and accurately via telephone. Ability to count and record accurately. Strong F&B knowledge is preferred. Requires knowledge or the ability to operate computer equipment and the reservations system. Requires proficiency in the English language. Able to stand and walk up to 8 hours. Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent experience. Experience
Previous experience in Food Service or Room Service setting. Micros experience preferred. Skills
Excellent written and verbal skills. Neat and clean appearance Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must have problem solving abilities, and the ability to compute basic arithmetic. Ability to work in a team environment. Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Must be able to bend, squat, lift, and transport up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Benefits Offered
