We are currently seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to join our team in Quincy, Washington (US-WA), United States (US). Job Responsibilities: The DC Operations IT Hardware team is responsible for network cable installations and removals, equipment installations & removals, smart hands hardware break/fix support and network cabling diagnostics. *This role is for a senior technician on an onsite team working 12 hours shift. This is a physical hands on technical job and thus requires the ability to bend, crawl, stand, climb. Must be able to lift and carry devices up to 50 lbs. The candidate will be responsible for: Management of work order queue Assigning technicians and scheduling shift activity Training and mentoring technicians Communicating with peer lead technician from other shifts for operational handoffs Day to day delivery of all move, add change (MAC) requests including hardware installs and network cabling Completing hardware break/fix tickets such as troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues and replacement of hardware components Checking supplies in and out from inventory management system Keeping inventory current & accurate using DC Portal Maintaining work area in a safe and orderly manner. Tools and supplies are properly put away after every shift. Providing data center escorts as requested Performing QA checks on work orders Performing backup tape operations and amber light tours Basic Qualifications: Minimum 2 years experience installing rack mount devices Minimum 2 years OS installation (Windows & Linux) experience Minimum 2 years Device configuration experience Minimum 2 years Server hardware repair and troubleshooting Minimum 2 years Experience installing and removing fiber/copper patch cabling Minimum 2 years Proficiency connecting to device consoles using KVM, serial, ssh, & telnet) Minimum 2 years Experience testing cabling with test equipment Minimum 2 years Proficiency troubleshooting connectivity issues including network, physical cabling, and device configuration Minimum 2 years Knowledge of cabling standards Minimum 2 years Experience using a DCIM tool Minimum 2 years Proficiency using Office 365 applications including Word & Excel Must be of physical condition to support this physically demanding position including routine walking, climbing ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, crawling, climbing stairs and able to lift 50 lbs Desired Skills: Experience teaching technical skills in small group settings A+ certification Network + certification First-aid/CPR skills a plus OSHA 10 certified a plus Minimum Educational Requirements: HS Diploma or GED with at least one of the following: 3-5 years IT Experience 2 year IT certificate program 2 year associates degree
