The Project Manager for Advanced Generation Services will function in a mid-level project manager capacity. You will own multiple services projects encompassing combined cycle, simple cycle, and plant expansion primarily for conventional generation. There is also potential to own projects in other areas sustainable generation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Provide technical support for client projects with design review services, design engineering services, and development engineering support. Support client projects with feasibility studies, energy production estimates, and cost estimates, and testing & commissioning. Provide proposal support for client projects with technical specification preparation, RFP support, and bid evaluation support. Oversee EPC contractors for client projects. Please note: This role has 25% travel to project and client sites. Our Advanced Power Generation Services solutions serve our clients to provide study level to full-scale Owner's Engineer support for sustainable power generation solutions such as Hydroelectric, Hydrogen and Natural Gas, Bio and Waste, Nuclear, and other thermal technologies. As a senior level Project Manager you are the execution hub for our clients and project teams, providing leadership and alignment for successful sustainable generation projects. Our Power Providers business is driven to meet clients' rapidly changing sustainability needs in generation, storage, transmission, and distribution of safe, reliable electric power. Key Responsibilities: Actively promote Black and Veatch's safety culture. Respond to RFPs and prepare proposals for services work. Lead project teams and clients through the entire project lifecycle as an Owner's Engineer including, feasibility studies, conceptual design, detailed design, construction, and startup for combined cycle, simple cycle, combined heat and power, and some boiler applications. Projects may be greenfield, brownfield, or existing plant expansion projects. Interface between the client, external stakeholders, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success and well managed expectations. Promote and mentor the development of future Project Managers and Engineering Managers. Deliver projects in accordance with policies and procedures and achieving performance goals related to safety, quality, value contribution, and client satisfaction. Work in both a corporate and field environment as needed. Management Responsibilities: Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project. Preferred Qualifications: 15+ years of relevant industry experience including new simple cycle and combined cycle projects, Combined Heat and Power, and other Boiler applications. Strong familiarity with the full spectrum of the project development, design, construction, and startup/commissioning lifecycle of a project. High level communication skills to better lead and serve client and community stakeholders for projects. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant degree. PE, P.Eng or equivalent professional license. Work Environment/Physical Demands: Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments. Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation).
