Linux Systems Administrator
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Linux Systems Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing and maintaining systems running Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our Linux-based environments. Key responsibilities include: Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu and RHEL). Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Manage system backups and disaster recovery operations. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. Maintain system security through access controls, firewalls, and regular audits. Automate routine tasks using shell scripts or configuration management tools. Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application deployment and infrastructure needs. Qualifications you must have: U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Must have active Secret Security clearance at start of employment. Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience. 3+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator. Strong expertise in Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, etc.). Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix). Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
