The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States. Holman is currently accepting applications for the role of Manager- Underwriting. Primary Tasks: Generate new business and increase revenues at Risk Partners Underwriting. Maintain accountability and relationships with Insurance Carriers. Evaluate, underwrite, and make pricing recommendations to the Director of Underwriting and Insurance Carriers. Perform loss projections and utilize pricing models to achieve profitability. Train and educate underwriting staff and business partners in underwriting and risk management best practices. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Fleet Insurance Manager, District Sales Managers, Strategic Account Managers, Fleet Account Executives, Insurance Account Executives, Insurance Agents and Brokers, etc. Identify new business opportunities within the existing Holman Fleet clients, new Holman Fleet prospects and with agents and brokers countrywide. Maintain expertise and competitive intelligence for fleet insurance countrywide to include: guaranteed cost insurance, large deductible programs, quota share programs, telematics programs, and Holman's Fleet Management Insurance Programs (Enterprise, Element). Maintain expertise and competitive intelligence regarding policy forms, pricing trends, loss development, collateral requirements, etc. Effectively communicate Holman's programs, capabilities and differentiators. In conjunction with the Director of Underwriting develop new programs for Holman's Fleet clients including carrier negotiations, forms, pricing, reinsurance, underwriting guidelines and appetite. Develop and manage performance metrics and key performance indicators for new business development. Participate and represent Holman / Risk Partners at appropriate industry functions to attract new prospects. Perform all duties and projects assigned within Underwriting. Education and/or Training: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, risk management / insurance or equivalent experience Insurance designations including: AU, CIC, CPCU, AAI, AIS, AINS, CPIA, etc. Relevant Work Experience: 3-5+ years' experience, including 2+ within a Leadership role. Ten plus years underwriting, pricing and negotiating large commercial fleets for liability and physical damage insurance. Experience in underwriting, pricing and negotiating fleets over 1,000 units and over $1,000,000 in premium including guaranteed cost, large deductible programs, composite rate programs, collateral programs, telematics programs, etc. Ability to use sophisticated pricing models. Proven track record building successful relationships with insurance carriers, agents and brokers countrywide. Breadth and depth of technical or functional expertise in own area of responsibility or department; maybe acquiring knowledge of other related areas of departments. Experience with developing and implementing processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy. Possesses a working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various insurance carrier management and rating systems. Market intelligence for commercial automobile insurance industry.
