Process Technician II, Process R&D

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Process Technician in our small-scale Research & Development fermentation lab in Palo Alto, CA. In this role you will be part of a team applying cutting edge biotechnology to address customer needs in a wide range of industrial applications. We are offering a $1,000.00 sign-on bonus for this position. The ideal candidate will have: Relevant laboratory experience. (Experience with biology, bioscience, biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry, or aseptic techniques is a plus.)

Can demonstrate mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills plus ability to work and collaborate with a team.

Basic computer skills. (Experience with computer-based process control systems a plus.)

Strong sense of self-motivation and ability to work under minimal supervision.

Ability to prioritize and troubleshoot issues under pressure.

Ability and willingness to learn emergent systems and adapt to new environments; curiosity and ability to think critically about work processes.

Experience in coordinating with co-workers/teammates in meeting expectations and improving work efficiency

A high school diploma with relevant experience required; associate or bachelor's degree in a technical or science field desired. Role Requirements: This position will be in our smaller scale DasGip lab that supports the development of our R&D projects during the day shift. As part of a team, the hired technician will be responsible for the set-up, cleaning and operation of DasGip 1L bioreactors, monitoring biological processes, sample collection, and proper documentation and using Dasware. Duties include media preparation, tank maintenance, contamination monitoring and analytical processing to support fermentation operations. Participate in continuous improvement efforts to increase quality and service levels, improve process safety, efficiency, and reliability. May occasionally provide lab support on weekend shifts and attend training on other shifts. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Qualified new hires will be training in the skills necessary to perform the job duties outlined, with a team devoted to individual development and investment.
