EcoReps Internship

EcoReps is Middlebury's newest student-run environmental program sponsored by Sustainability & Environmental Affairs! The mission of the EcoReps is represented by the "four E's": Empower the Middlebury College community by helping gain a better understanding of sustainability and environmental issues and how to integrate solutions-oriented work in their lives. Encourage inclusive community building that calls for equity, observance, and belonging. Expand the accessibility to environmental and sustainability resources at Middlebury. Engage with the fourth pillar of Energy2028 to educate students about the importance of environmentally friendly practices as soon as they step on campus. This position is compensated at the Level B rate on the Midd student wage scale: $14.43 - $14.86 per hour. Through peer-to-peer education and sponsoring on-campus events, the EcoReps Interns will improve sustainability education, increase connectivity and communications, and improve the network of environmental organizations on campus! The EcoReps internships are for students interested in taking on campus related challenges and developing solutions that advance Middlebury's sustainability and environmental leadership. Working in a team of five, EcoReps interns will work to clearly define problems, brainstorm solutions, develop prototype designs and test them out. EcoRep Interns will also be responsible for developing effective ways to measure and assess success, as well as setting goals for progress as they work to develop this new student-focused program. The EcoReps are currently hiring for one intern position for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters: Waste Outreach and Education Coordinator (3-5 hours per week) (1 student) Facilities does so much work managing all of the waste at Middlebury. As the Waste Intern, it will be your job to learn everything that goes into Middlebury's relationship with waste! This includes updating students on the Reuse trailer and the recycling center, as well as how Middlebury composts. You will also be in charge of teaching information about how to properly recycle and compost. You will work approximately 3-5 hours per week. Your primary responsibilities include: Exploring facilities services' website to learn more about their various initiatives and responsibilities, including recycling and waste management and composting Creating social media posts and posters that highlight and educate students on these various initiatives, stressing the work that goes into them and the progress made Creating social media posts and sending emails advertising the Reuse trailer Working with the head, assistant, and education coordinators to plan a few events focused on recycling, composting, and waste management
