Vanderlande Industries is a leading supplier of baggage handling systems and services worldwide. Vanderlande is responsible for the service and maintenance of the baggage handling system at the Portland International Jetport (PMW). Preventive Maintenance

Inspection, adjustment, cleaning, replacement Tote running Attending to call outs, faults, alarms and warnings, supervising staff, scheduling, training Attending to stoppages and bag jams Assisting Maintenance Technicians with all maintenance, including inspections, repairs, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance

Reporting through CMMS Attending to stoppages, breakdowns, bag jams Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems Communicating with various parties on the work performed and present status of specialty systems. Assisting with inventory counts Reacting to messages from the control room or manager Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent Minimum 1-year technical experience in an industrial environment. General mechanical and electrical troubleshooting/problem solving skills Valid drivers license Willingness to learn MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN AN AIRPORT BADGE (drug screen and background check) Willingness to comply and cooperate with FAA, TSA, and all other authority having jurisdiction Preferred Qualifications (All Levels Encouraged to Apply): Minimum of 1 year work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, material handling environment (baggage handling, material, warehouse, distribution, etc.) Minimum of 1 year experience with a computerized maintenance management system (i.e., Maximo, SAP, etc.) Knowledge-Skills-Abilities: Flexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs. Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills. Customer service oriented Proactive and strong work ethic and initiative, who would like to grow and develop within the organization. Working knowledge of computers and equipment Ability to solve problems under pressure Pro-active attitude towards process improvement Ability to demonstrate safe work practices Willingness to speak up Work Environment and Physical Demands: The work environment/physical requirements described here are representative of those a team member may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job: Technicians work in the secured baggage handling areas, in repair stations, or on airfields. They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules. Team members frequently bend, stoop, and reach from ladders and scaffolds while performing the duties of this job. Team members are frequently required to reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. Team members must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Team members will be lifting parts and tools related to repairs and inspections of conveyor systems and passenger boarding bridges. Occasional outdoor work. Infrequent travel (5 to 15% Max). While performing the duties of this job, the team member is working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts, vibration, occasional loud noise, and adverse weather.
