Electrical Discipline Designer

Are you a highly skilled Electrical Discipline Designer with a passion for developing innovative solutions for complex oil and gas projects? We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Electrical Discipline Designer to join our team. This role demands deep technical expertise in electrical design, particularly for pipeline stations and truck loading facilities, and the ability to work independently while mentoring junior staff. About the Role:

Complex Design Execution:

Handle intricate design assignments across multiple projects, developing innovative and original solutions. Project Planning & Management:

Assist in creating project scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project plans. Mentorship & Review:

Provide oversight and review of junior designers' work, delivering thorough redlines and feedback. Electrical System Design:

Develop conduit and cable tray layouts, schedules, and fill calculations, generate cable and wire interconnection reports, and create drawings for electrical enclosures, equipment, and instrument installations. P&ID & Hazardous Area Design:

Comprehend and modify electrical and automation portions of P&IDs, and create hazardous area classification drawings. Site Visits & Documentation:

Perform site visits to create sketches, redlines, and gather field information for design and as-built purposes. Coordination & Reviews:

Perform design coordination, drawing reviews, and create markups for designers and drafters. AutoCAD Expertise:

Expertly use AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical to develop detailed electrical designs, including single power diagrams, schematics, interconnect diagrams, panel layouts, and bills of materials. Standards Integration:

Integrate client engineering standards into designs without engineering assistance. Code Compliance:

Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards (NEC 409, UL508A, NFPA 70, NEC 240/250/392, API RP 500, NEC Chapter 3). Pipeline & Truck Loading Expertise:

Understand the operations of pipeline stations and truck loading facilities, identifying major electrical components and their interaction with mechanical systems. Who You Are:

Educated & Experienced:

You hold an Associate's degree in drafting/design or a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and have 6+ years of experience in oil and gas projects. Pipeline & Truck Loading Expert:

You possess strong familiarity with pipeline stations, truck loading facilities, and their electrical systems. AutoCAD Electrical Master:

You have advanced AutoCAD Electrical experience. Code Compliant:

You have a strong understanding of NEC 409 and UL 508A standards. Mentor & Leader:

You are able to review and refine junior designers' work and work independently with minimal supervision. Problem Solver:

You are capable of developing innovative solutions to complex design challenges. Required Skills:

Associate's degree in drafting/design or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. 6+ years of experience in oil and gas projects. Advanced AutoCAD Electrical experience. Strong understanding of NEC 409 and UL 508A standards. Ability to review and refine junior designer's work. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Additional Info:

This is a 6-month contract to direct opportunity. Pay Range:
