Our team is responsible for the End-of-Day calculation platform that processes large volumes of data to calculate over 800,000 index values and generate thousands of reports daily. What sets us apart is our focus on performance, accuracy, and scalability in a high-stakes environment. The role will lead the design and development of Java/J2EE applications for SPDJI systems and websites. Provide technical guidance and support to team members across development, testing, and deployment activities. Develop web applications with rich front-end interfaces and integrate with internal/vendor platforms. Conduct system performance tuning and troubleshoot application issues. Interface with databases using advanced SQL and PL/SQL. Participate in code reviews, version control, and enforce best development practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business users, product owners, and IT stakeholders. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,862 to $180,100. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits. Basic required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering (or equivalent experience). Eight or more years of experience in Java development with strong skills in J2EE, JMS, EJB. Proven experience leading software development teams or technical projects. Proficient in advanced SQL and PL/SQL. Experience with Unix scripting, vulnerability remediation, and application performance tuning. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Additional preferred qualifications include advanced Python or Scala, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Fortify, DevOps pipelines), microservices and big data (Spark, Hadoop/HDFS), AWS services (EC2, EMR, Lambda, S3, Glue), QA automation (Cucumber, Selenium, Karate), financial data systems: Equity, Commodities, Forex, Futures, and Options, index/benchmark or asset management platform experience, and basic UI development skills (jQuery, HTML5, CSS).
