Senior Commercial Operations Manager For Markets

GE Vernova brings together GE's portfolio of energy businesses including Power, Wind, Electrification, and Digital businesses. With focus, GE Vernova is accelerating the path to more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy, while helping our customer power economies and deliver the electricity that is vital to health, safety, security, and improved quality of life. As the Senior Commercial Operations Manager for Markets, you'll spearhead strategic deal support and commercial execution for substantial software opportunities throughout the Americas, with a pronounced focus on customers in regulated electricity markets, especially those involving Independent System Operators (ISOs). You'll be instrumental in driving revenue growth by collaborating closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Product teams to structure high-value, enterprise-grade deals that are commercially robust, compliant, and aligned with GE Vernova's goals and the unique commercial frameworks of the electric utility sector. This role requires not only a strong commercial acumen but also a nuanced understanding of the operational and regulatory factors that influence utility purchasing cycles, market operator engagement models, and the extended implementation timelines characteristic of grid software. Roles And Responsibilities

Lead the development of commercial frameworks for complex, high-value deals, balancing revenue, risk, and compliance while aligning with customer requirements. Bring specific expertise to structuring deals for electric utilities and ISO-aligned entities, where regulatory constructs, license timelines, and implementation cycles require bespoke commercial thinking. Own the creation and governance of tailored commercial proposals, ensuring clarity, competitiveness, and alignment with internal standards. Anticipate customer-side challenges related to regulated environments and shape responses accordingly. Serve as a key commercial advisor to Sales and a point of coordination across Legal, Finance, and Product for deal-specific strategy and approvals. Help ensure commercial approaches reflect how ISOs and utilities evaluate risk, value, and technical scope. Clearly articulate deal strategy, risks, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders, including regional leadership and functional heads. Translate ISO-specific timelines, constraints, and approval dynamics into commercial terms. Maintain rigor around commercial policies, pricing guidelines, and approval workflows. Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and audit standards, especially those relevant to regulated utility customers. Partner with Commercial Excellence and Sales Operations teams to identify and implement improvements to commercial systems and processes, with awareness of how complex stakeholder environments like ISOs affect deal velocity. Define and monitor KPIs related to deal velocity, pricing discipline, sales efficiency, and margin impact. Champion commercial execution best practices and uphold process rigor in a dynamic, high-growth environment, with sensitivity to long-cycle, mission-critical utility deployments.
