Serology Lab Technician
This is an On-Site role based out of our Laboratory located in Fountain Valley, CA. The Target Pay for this position is $21.63 an hour. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget. Job Purpose/Overview
The Serology Lab Technician is responsible for testing blood and other samples for viral and bacterial disease by detecting antibodies (AB) or antigens (AG). Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reads and releases test results.
Collect and build samples to load.
Responsible for completing the Coggins Federal forms as required by the USDA.
The test performed may be more routine and less complex.
Exercises judgment in evaluating and reporting results.
Reconcile pending and queue lists daily.
Performs equipment maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
Knowledge of lab equipment and procedures.
Comply with all Quality Assurance policies and protocols.
Awareness of quality control and calibration.
Consult with senior peers on non-complex tasks to learn through experience.
Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required, 2- or 4-year degree in science-related field preferred.
Prior lab experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Laboratory skills, with experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating lab instruments.
General science background.
Attention to detail and organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Solid communication skills- written and verbal.
Proficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written direction.
Positive, can-do attitude.
Personal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office.
Working Conditions
Stationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours.
Constantly operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently.
Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch.
Required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs.
The ability to observe details at close range.
Extended hours may be needed.
Laboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE.
Works under close to moderate supervision.
Potential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards. A complete list of such chemicals is available from department supervision.
