Requisition #37273 Job Summary: The Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine has an opening for multiple full-time faculty positions. The University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus, Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine Division is seeking applications for energetic, collegial individuals for a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner OR Physician's Assistant) position to provide nighttime coverage within the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of the University of Colorado Hospital. The division oversees a regionally and internationally recognized referral center for the care of patients with all forms of pulmonary disease and critical illness. The responsibilities would include the assessment and ongoing management of patients with underlying pulmonary disease and critical illness. The provider would work closely with the physicians (including residents, fellows, and other trainees) within the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). A full-time nocturnist position is hired to work ten (12-hour shifts) per month, on average. Key Responsibilities: Inpatient evaluation and management of acute and critically ill patients with complex medical and pulmonary diseases. Staff the Medical Intensive Care Unit and/or Medical Surgical Progressive Care Unit. Ordering and interpreting tests and evaluations for patient management Collaborating with consulting services on patient management Perform invasive procedures with appropriate credentials Provide cross-coverage for other service lines within the Division as needed (for example: Pulmonary Hypertension, Pulmonary Embolism Response Team) Staff other service lines within the Division as needed (for example: pulmonary consults, critical care consults, Rapid Response Team) Support the educational mission of the division Other duties assigned by the Lead Advanced Practice Provider and/or the Associate Chair for Clinical Affairs This description is a summary only and is describing the general level of work being performed, it is not intended to be all-inclusive.
