LightFeather is currently seeking a highly skilled and creative

Graphic Designer

to create visually compelling designs across a variety of digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in graphic design, branding, and visual communication-grounded in

Human-Centered Design (HCD)

principles. You will collaborate closely with development and leadership teams to transform complex ideas into intuitive, user-focused visual assets that align with our brand identity and mission-driven goals.

Responsibilities Apply Human-Centered Design principles to all visual outputs, ensuring that designs resonate with end-user needs and are grounded in empathy and usability. Translate complex concepts into clear, intuitive visual assets including diagrams, slide decks, infographics, and marketing materials. Design high-fidelity, user-friendly process flows that support technical documentation and system understanding. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to iterate on ideas and test visual solutions against real user goals. Create and maintain visual templates that support storytelling and information clarity in both internal and client-facing presentations. Develop cohesive digital assets (e.g., web graphics, social content) that are responsive and optimized across devices and channels. Assist in establishing and maintaining a design system that reinforces brand identity and accessibility standards. Stay current on design tools, accessibility best practices, and evolving HCD methodologies.

Minimum Qualifications U.S. Citizenship Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Human-Centered Design, or a related field-or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design, with a strong focus on HCD-informed outputs such as user journey visuals, service blueprints, and process storytelling. Proven ability to create designs that prioritize usability, clarity, and empathy for diverse audiences. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma. Solid understanding of layout, typography, and color theory Strong portfolio showcasing human-centered design thinking, visual hierarchy, and ability to tell stories through design. Experience with qualitative design research and incorporating user feedback into visual iterations. Comfortable giving and receiving feedback, iterating rapidly, and communicating design rationale clearly.

Nice-to-Have Experience designing in the public sector or for government clients. Knowledge of web responsiveness and design for accessibility (Section 508, WCAG).
